Honoring and creating the Quan-Am Phat-Dai spiritual tourist zone of Mekong Delta is considered as an important and necessary task in the current context of Bac Lieu. The project does not only contribute to meet the spiritual need of lay Buddhists but also contributes to develop a spiritual tourist zone for the homeland of Bac Lieu province.
8:00 AM on August 4th, 2021 (June 26th, 2021 Lunar), in the online meeting room, the Standing Venerable monks and nuns of the Provincial Executive Board opened a meeting to discuss the overall master planning of the Quan-Am Phat-Dai Area 5 hectares square.
The Standing Administrative Board offers two options: once is to invite domestic and foreign designers to design the overall structure, which means announcing an invitation to compete for design plans and giving prizes to winner. Then, we choose the most masterpiece work for construction; Second, invite a fame designing unit. In the first option is measured as scientific, solid, most unique but its cost is high due to the organizing fee. In the second option take less cost than once.
Through the enthusiast discussing, this project must be carried out. Most Venerable Sirs want to implement the second option, however, the final one has not yet decided due to financial capacity, especially in the condition of country is suffering from the Covid pandemic. All expenses come from the bank which each payment proposals and approval approved. Compensation for Venerable Monks directly working at the Quan-Am Pjat-Dai zone and Buddhist Intermediate School`s staffs do not receive compensation, except for non-abbots who receive 50% of the previous value. Employees only work 50% of the time and receive pay accordingly. The Board of Directors' Office is only allowed to keep cash of 20,000,000 VND (twenty million VND). This method of using and financial balance is 100% agreed upon by venerable monks in the meeting.
